Job Description Salary: Overview: Living Stone Restorations is seeking a Lead Carpenter to join our growing team. We need someone who thinks creatively, communicates clearly, and understands the urgency and complexity of restoration environments . Candidates must possess their own truck and tools and be willing to travel within a 90-mile radius. While most work is performed on-site, some tasks may occasionally require off-site completion. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in rough or finish carpentry, including work in restoration or remodeling environments Proficient with power tools: skill saws, chop saws, jigsaws Skilled with hand tools: chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders Own reliable transportation and hand tools Ability to join materials using nails, screws, staples, or adhesives with precision Comfortable working on stilts, ladders, scaffolding, and beams Capable of lifting/carrying 100 lbs Knowledge of lumber grades and wood species; can select appropriate raw materials Able to estimate dimensions and proportions accurately Experience forming structures for concrete pouring Familiarity with post-disaster job sites including water, fire, mold, and storm damage Team-oriented with a goal-driven mindset Life-long learner, teachable Key Responsibilities: Prepare and execute project layouts Arrive job-ready, coordinating material pick-up in advance Work from building plans or supervisor direction to meet specs Ensure work meets code and restoration quality standards Collaborate with PMs on inspections and scope adjustments Measure, cut, and shape materials efficiently Frame and construct walls, floors, doorframes, etc. Erect and level structures using appropriate tools and hardware Assess and replace damaged structural elements from water, fire, or mold exposure Work overtime if necessary to meet deadlines Maintain quality control on restoration and rebuild efforts Use tools to reconstruct both structural and finish elements Keep job sites clean and safe at all times Guide and supervise laborers and other trades Maintain professionalism with clients, team members, and inspectors Prioritize safety, productivity, and precision in all tasks Adapt to changing job scopes and dynamic restoration needs Show up on time and take responsibility for task completion Seek ways to improve process and craftsmanship Additional Qualifications: Familiarity with insurance scopes, Xactimate line items, and working on active restoration claims is a plus Must be comfortable working in homes affected by water, fire, or mold Education/Experience: Minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience in construction and/or restoration Ability to read and interpret framing drawings, elevations, and safety regulations Language Skills: Able to read and understand safety rules, equipment instructions, and work orders Mathematical Skills: Solid grasp of measurements, angles, fractions, and construction math Reasoning Ability: Able to assess onsite issues and make smart, real-time decisions Physical Demands: Work on active construction and restoration job sites indoors and outdoors Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and use hands for tasks over extended periods Occasional overtime required to meet deadlines Work Environment: Regular exposure to wet, humid, or dusty conditions Work around moving mechanical parts and construction hazards Occasional exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, or confined spaces Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) with company match Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance
