Responsibilities

Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores, providing feedback, communicating with all levels of associates about store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction to introduce and lead company change efforts, and providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives such as community and outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved, and providing action plans to correct deficiencies.

Drives financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implementing plans to mitigate shrink and meet sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associates, communicating expectations, and fostering a belonging mindset.

Recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying goals, building accountability, measuring progress, and promoting continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethics, supports the Open Door Policy, and guides business process execution.

Builds high-performing teams by embracing differences, cultivating belonging, and creating opportunities for all associates to thrive.

Attracts and retains top talent, empowers and develops talent, and recognizes contributions.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

State Pay Differential: This job has an additional differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.

For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.

Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.

General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including responsibilities of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
