About the Opportunity A more detailed job description will be provided further into the interview process.
This will be the first time filling a full-time role specifically focused on students of middle and high school students at Lebanon Baptist Church. It is a great opportunity for someone to come in with a fresh approach to ministry and begin building upon a solid foundation. Engaging students with the Word of God is at the core of their desires, and they are excited to see how this person will help parents shape the spiritual growth and development of students. The Senior Pastor at Lebanon has been leading this church for over 25 years and is eager to see someone develop a strategy for discipling students from conversion to reproducing disciple-makers. This role will also include general church administrative tasks on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and coordinate the student ministry with a focus on biblical education and developing a biblical worldview.
Promote, plan, and direct Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Bible studies.
Develop and promote outreach with the goal of engaging students to become proactive in evangelism to reach their friends and family for Christ.
Develop a student ministry communication and promotion strategy.
Along with other staff, perform general office work, including record keeping, creation of various reports as requested, preparing and printing weekly church bulletin, and managing church calendar of events.
Preferred: Some ministry experience, administrative experience.

Hours and Qualifications HOURS: Full-time
Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Be a member in good standing of a Baptist congregation.
Have a desire to teach and mentor youth with patience and an accepting heart.
Have a passion for leading and equipping Christians to disciple others.
Have experience in teaching youth in an educational or Christian setting.
Pass a mandatory background check.
Be proficient with computers and social media.
Have a related Bible college or seminary degree (preferred).
Have a willingness to join, endorse, and support Scottsville Baptist Church and her mission as well as the ministries of the worldwide work of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Purpose of Position
To ignite a desire for a genuine relationship with Christ and to equip the youth for the spiritual battle they are in.
To partner with parents and help them disciple their teenagers.
To lead and equip all generations to make disciples.
Responsibilities to the Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee Evaluations will be conducted after the first 6 months and annually thereafter by the Senior Pastor and will be reported in writing to the Personnel Committee.
Job Duties Include (Youth Ministry)
Oversight and leadership of the youth ministries (7th–12th grades). This includes regularly scheduled activities for youth during church meeting times (e.g., Sunday School, Wednesday nights), special events, etc.
Creating, planning, and leading special events and trips for youth and families such as D-Now weekends, camps, trips, holiday-themed events, Youth VBS, mission trips, etc. These events will be placed on an annual calendar and submitted to the Senior Pastor.
Planning and implementing creative, relevant, new ideas within the ministry.
Recruiting, training, praying for, and involving new and current youth ministry volunteers.
Managing the ministry’s budget efficiently and effectively and submitting an annual budget proposal to the Finance Committee for approval.
Communicating consistently with parents as well as providing the tools they need for spiritual leadership.
Choosing curricula and other teaching materials for youth areas, upon approval of the Senior Pastor.
Connecting new individuals and families in creative ways to our church through the youth ministry.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Job Duties Include (Discipleship Ministry)
Oversight and maintenance of all discipleship activities within the church. This includes but is not limited to Sunday School, weekly small group Bible studies, etc.
Communicating regularly with discipleship leaders within the church and providing them with necessary resources, including materials and training.
Working with the Senior Pastor in creating new Bible study classes and discipleship opportunities.
Working with the Nominating Committee and the Committee on Committees in enlisting qualified workers for leadership in discipleship areas.
Managing the ministry’s budget effectively and efficiently and submitting an annual budget proposal to the Finance Committee for approval.
Planning and implementing creative, relevant, new ideas within the ministry.
Choosing curricula and other teaching materials for discipleship classes, upon approval of the Senior Pastor.
Connecting new individuals and families in creative ways to our church through the discipleship ministry.
