This position is for the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC), a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to the citizens of the State of New Mexico. The posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time; applicant lists may be screened more than once.
Salary $15.00 – $22.50 hourly ($31,200 – $46,800 annually). Pay Band: C1.
Why this job exists? Perform custodial tasks in a state‑owned or leased building.
How it gets done
Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing.
Clean windows, windowsills and mirrors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Wash walls, clean restrooms and offices, dust furniture, and remove snow from walkways and driveways.
Move furniture as necessary; collect and dispose of garbage.
Use proper disinfectants to control odor and germs.
Set up rooms for meetings; train custodial personnel as required.
Inspect the facility for needed repairs and report to the supervisor.
Maintain inventory and perform minor maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Customers NMRC treats patients and clients with chemical dependency and medical rehabilitation needs.
Ideal Candidate Experience in custodial duties totaling six months, possession of or ability to obtain a New Mexico driver's license (may be required for some jobs), knowledge of cleaning methods and practices, cleaning supplies and equipment, safety rules, and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Minimum Qualification Eighth‑grade education.
Employment Requirements Same as the ideal candidate: experience in custodial duties totaling six months, possession of or ability to obtain a New Mexico driver's license, knowledge of cleaning methods and practices, safety rules, and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Working Conditions Indoor setting; exposure to fumes, airborne particles or caustic chemicals. Lifting, pushing, pulling, transferring, or carrying up to 50 pounds. Rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays may be required.
