Episcope is seeking a General Manager to lead Daydrift, our café concept in Arlington, VA. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the café, ensuring excellence in guest experience, team performance, and overall efficiency. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong financial performance while fostering a warm, professional, and hospitality-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring excellence in guest experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
- Leading daily café operations with a strong focus on hospitality, consistency, and attentiveness.
- Meeting goals for sales, labor, product quality, cleanliness, and service standards.
- Fostering a positive, professional, and welcoming culture rooted in care, consistency, connection, creativity, and community.
- Maintaining and elevating standards for training and development across all café roles.
- Ensuring consistency of recipes, preparations, coffee quality, and service execution.
- Being present on the floor and filling in as needed to ensure guest service always comes first.
- Overseeing scheduling for management and hourly team members.
- Providing consistent one-on-one coaching and performance feedback to managers and staff.
- Managing daily, weekly, and monthly reporting in partnership with Episcope leadership.
- Ensuring full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, sanitation, and employment practices.
- Collaborating closely with ownership, operations, HR, accounting, marketing, and culinary leadership to support Episcope’s growth and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing high-quality cafés, coffee-forward concepts, or full-service hospitality operations.
- Genuine passion for coffee and café culture, with pride in craft and product execution.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&Ls, labor management, and cost controls.
- Proficiency with hospitality technology platforms (e.g., Toast, scheduling systems, Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent organizational, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required.
- Stamina to work 50–60 hours per week.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on leadership style.
Compensation
- $80,000 base salary
