Position Description Deque Systems is looking for an execution-focused Product Owner to orchestrate the development of two of our flagship products, axe Monitor and axe Reports. The Product Owner will be responsible for maintaining the backlog, running sprints, and delivering releases. They will work with the engineering leads to define and maintain metrics to track the effectiveness of the development team. They will work with the QA team to ensure that product releases are high quality and will proactively communicate with all stakeholders to make the releases of our products smooth and seamless. Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain prioritized backlogs that balance roadmap features, tech debt, bug fixes and customer tickets
  • Work with customer support to resolve issues
  • Communicate regularly with the Product Manager about roadmap progress, team capacity, and risks to meeting the goals
  • Write tickets with clear and complete acceptance criteria
  • Schedule and facilitate team events, such as standup, refinement, planning, demo, and retro
  • Set objectives for the team that reflect current product priorities
  • Collaborate with the development leads and Product Manager to set release dates
  • Work with QA and development to ensure complete and efficient development and testing
  • Maintain team metrics and prioritize automation to improve the development processes
  • Own the release process by ensuring quality requirements are met, preparing internal teams, delivering documentation, and scheduling the release.
Requirements
  • Experience as a scrum master or product owner
  • Agile development expertise
  • Previous experience with enterprise software products
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and coordination skills
Additional Skills
  • Accessibility knowledge and experience would be a plus.
  • Developer tools knowledge and experience would be a plus e.g., command line applications, APIs, git, GitHub/GitLab, Continuous Integration tools
