A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a specialty in Stepdown care at a contract position located in Brunswick, ME. This role involves delivering critical and intermediate care in an 8-bed Special Care Unit (SCU) environment, providing specialized nursing services to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions. Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to patients in the SCU/IMC setting, maintaining patient ratios between 1:1 and 4:1. Administer and monitor vasoactive drips and manage ventilators and other advanced medical equipment such as ceiling lifts, plumb pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and SCD boots. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care. Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system. Occasionally float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed. Uphold a professional dress code wearing navy blue scrubs. Qualifications: Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Skilled in managing patients with vasoactive drips and ventilators. Prior experience in ICU or SCU settings strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work proactively with a team-oriented, down-to-earth approach. Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. Schedule: Shifts available: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekend work required every other weekend. No on-call requirements during core hours.
