An opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a progressive care stepdown unit is available in Salem, NH. This contract position focuses on caring for cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients, along with occasional medical progressive care cases. The role requires skillful management of telemetry monitoring and chest tube care within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include: Delivering high-quality nursing care to patients using telemetry equipment and managing chest tubes. Administering cardiac drips such as dobutamine, dopamine, and Levo, as well as caring for patients with external pacemakers. Performing standard progressive care procedures, including pericardiocentesis with drain management, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion. Collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and comfort. Utilizing electronic medical records to document patient care accurately. Qualifications: Current RN license with experience in progressive care or stepdown nursing. Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and chest tube management is essential. Prior experience with cardiac drips and external pacemakers preferred. Certifications in ACLS and BLS required. Strong organizational skills with flexibility to adapt in a dynamic clinical environment. Schedule: Every third weekend required; no on-call duties. Day and night shifts available with established patient ratios. Working in this unit offers exposure to advanced cardiac and surgical care equipment such as IV pumps, telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and high-flow nasal cannula.
