An opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse specializing in progressive care step-down units. This contract position is situated in Nashua, NH, offering a challenging and rewarding environment caring for predominantly cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients, along with some medical progressive care cases. Responsibilities: Monitor and care for patients requiring telemetry and step-down level attention Manage cardiac drips such as dobutamine, dopamine, and Levo in applicable cases Handle equipment including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, chest tubes, bladder scanners, and pacing devices Perform or assist with procedures such as pericardiocentesis with drain management, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems Qualifications & Experience: Current RN licensure with specialized experience in progressive care or telemetry units Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and comfort with chest tube care is mandatory Preferred experience includes administration of cardiac drips and managing external pacemakers Certifications required: ACLS and BLS Work Schedule: Every third weekend work required, no on-call duties Stable shift coverage supporting day and night progressive care patients This position offers the chance to be part of a specialized care team focused on high-acuity patients within a supportive environment.
