About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with a focus on product and privacy to join its Legal, Risk, and Compliance team. This pivotal role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to minimize risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the global privacy strategy, building and scaling the privacy program, and instilling privacy-compliant practices throughout product development. Key responsibilities include collaborating on privacy best practices, drafting and maintaining privacy policies, and monitoring evolving regulations, particularly in the area of AI.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in privacy, data security, and consumer protection, with a strong preference for those with international experience and a background in advising technology companies. The role requires expertise in federal and state privacy laws, with a CIPP/US certification being mandatory. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, hands-on mindset, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering solutions in demanding environments. Responsibilities also include managing a small team, partnering on privacy and security issues in agreements, and providing proactive guidance to leadership on industry standards and emerging issues.
