Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading on-shift electrical maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role oversees workflow, troubleshooting, equipment performance, and compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. The Electrical Supervisor works closely with maintenance leadership and cross-functional teams to support continuous operations and plant performance. Primary Responsibilities Supervise on-shift electrical personnel to meet or exceed production, safety, and quality standards. Assign work, maintain workflow, monitor progress, and verify quality and accuracy of completed tasks. Ensure proper job sequencing, setup, material flow, and tool storage. Review timecards, record overtime, and ensure accuracy of labor reporting. Coordinate activities with maintenance, production, and other departments to ensure alignment with plant objectives. Enforce safety procedures, quality control standards, and proper work practices. Ensure efficient utilization of manpower and machinery, including training and development of new employees. Maintain housekeeping standards and safe working conditions throughout the facility. Recommend and initiate purchase requisitions for tools, equipment, and materials as needed. Prepare and maintain maintenance reports, documentation, and records. Provide continuous monitoring of machinery and equipment performance. Support plant operations as required, including

24/7 on-call availability . Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient with computer applications including

Excel, Word, PeopleSoft, and CMMS systems . Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development. Effective training, coaching, and team leadership skills. Minimum

5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment , with at least

2 years in a supervisory role . 5–7 years of experience

in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field preferred. Hands-on experience with

AC and DC motors, VFDs, and control systems

(Allen Bradley preferred). Proficiency with

PLCs, industrial electronics, and computer-based control systems . Experience in electrical system design, repair, and analysis using engineering principles. Skilled in the use of

multimeters, amp meters, and meggers

for voltage, continuity, current, and insulation testing. Experience working with

high voltage systems (220–480 VAC) . Experience troubleshooting

12–24 VDC control voltages . Knowledge of signal voltages ( 0–10 VDC and 4–20 mA ). Ability to read and interpret

U.S. and European electrical schematics . Working knowledge of

servo systems, drives, and PLC programming fundamentals . Ability to build and modify control panels, add push buttons, and modify relay bases to accommodate proper voltage and amperage. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise electrical maintenance personnel. Coordinate and oversee internal electrical projects. Supervise external contractors working on-site, as needed. Review and approve departmental time and labor records. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 1–2 years of formal technical training

preferred. xsgimln 2–4 years of experience in a maintenance department .
