The Clinical Informatics Lead serves as a strategic bridge between clinical practice and technology—integrating clinical expertise, data insights, and innovation to elevate patient care, safety, and operational excellence across Care New England Medical Group. This role drives the implementation, optimization, and ongoing advancement of Clinical Information Systems (including EHR), ensuring they seamlessly align with clinical workflows, regulatory standards, and the organization’s mission.

As a trusted leader and collaborator, the Clinical Informatics Lead provides direction for system design, testing, and deployment—partnering with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to champion the effective, user-centered use of technology in every aspect of care delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

System Implementation and Optimization

Partner with clinical and IT teams to design, implement, and continuously enhance Clinical Information Systems, including EHR platforms, that drive clinical and operational excellence.

Align technology solutions with real-world clinical workflows through thoughtful configuration, testing, and feedback integration.

Champion system improvements, upgrades, and feature development that elevate user experience, performance, and reliability.

Embed data security, access control, and confidentiality into every phase of system design and deployment in accordance with CNE Information Systems policies.

Clinical Workflow and Data Analysis

Transform and streamline clinical workflows by identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.

Incorporate clinician and end-user feedback to guide enhancements that support safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery.

Leverage data analytics to ensure accuracy, integrity, and usability of clinical data—developing actionable reports and dashboards that inform strategy and performance improvement.

Training, Support, and User Engagement

Design and deliver engaging, hands-on training programs that empower clinical teams to adopt and confidently utilize technology.

Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for technology-related clinical practice concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Foster collaboration and open communication across teams, building a culture of partnership and continuous learning around clinical technology.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Improvement

Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, security, and privacy standards—including HIPAA, HITECH, and Meaningful Use—by embedding these requirements into system processes.

Support and advance quality and performance initiatives by leveraging health IT solutions to monitor outcomes and optimize patient care.

Leadership and Strategic Planning

Play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of clinical application development, reporting, and technology innovation across the organization.

Inspire, mentor, and guide clinical informatics staff and super-users to drive engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with organizational leadership to ensure that technology initiatives reflect and reinforce CNE’s mission, values, and commitment to clinical excellence.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field required. Master’s degree in health informatics, Clinical Informatics, or related discipline preferred.

Minimum 3 to 5 Years of clinical or clinical management experience within a healthcare setting.

Demonstrated experience with Clinical Information Systems and EHR platforms (Epic preferred).

Previous experience in clinical informatics, workflow optimization, or health IT leadership strongly preferred.

Clinical Informatics Board Certification or Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) preferred.

Additional Requirements

Deep understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare delivery systems, and regulatory standards, with a passion for improving care through technology.

Strategic thinker and analytical problem-solver with proven success in leading complex projects from concept to implementation.

Proficient in EHR configuration, optimization, and user support, with a focus on enhancing system usability and clinician engagement.

Exceptional communicator and facilitator, skilled at building strong relationships and fostering collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.

Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
