Title: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Location: Bismarck, ND Position Type: Travel / Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Status: Open Shift: Night shifts only Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36–40 hours per week Weekends/Holidays: Not required ________________________________________ Position Overview The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) is responsible for performing comprehensive sleep studies and administering therapeutic interventions for patients with sleep disorders in an acute care setting. This role requires independent clinical judgment, strong technical skills, and adherence to established sleep laboratory protocols. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Conduct diagnostic sleep studies and monitor patients overnight • Administer and manage therapies including CPAP, BiPAP, supplemental oxygen, and bilevel ventilation • Prepare patients for sleep studies and ensure proper electrode placement • Monitor sleep patterns, respiratory events, and physiological parameters • Accurately document and chart findings using electronic medical records • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and compliance throughout testing • Follow departmental policies, workflows, and infection control standards ________________________________________ Equipment & Technology • Natus Xltek sleep testing systems • ResMed PAP devices • EPIC (One Chart) electronic medical record system ________________________________________ Unit Details • Care Setting: Acute care • Unit Type: Sleep Study / Sleep Lab • Trauma Level: II • Beds: 4 sleep beds • Patient Ratio: 1 technologist to 2 patients ________________________________________ Required Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sleep disorders or polysomnography setting • Active North Dakota Respiratory Care License • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification • BLS/CPR certification • Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
