Position Overview As a Commercial Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for quantifying and calculating the costs of construction projects based on site visits, construction drawings, and specifications. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and vendors to prepare estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who can effectively coordinate and communicate with the PCE team and project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities Opportunity Identification:

Seek out and identify public bids, RFQs, and RFPs. Pre-Bid Meetings:

Attend virtual and on-site meetings as needed. Project Qualification & Analysis:

Assess potential projects, analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract documents, and identify risks or challenges. Cost Estimation & Bid Preparation:

Perform detailed electronic takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Vendor & Client Communication:

Act as a primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Solicit bids, negotiate pricing, and provide scope recommendations. Estimate Progression:

Create and present progressive estimates as project design evolves. Site Visits:

Conduct on-site evaluations to gather insights and ensure accurate estimations. Team Collaboration:

Work closely with Business Development Director, project managers, architects, and other team members to ensure a smooth transition from bidding to construction. Document Management:

Maintain organized files of estimates, subcontractor bids, and project specifications. Reporting:

Prepare and present budget reports, project plans, and proposals to clients and internal management. Market Analysis:

Monitor supply chains and market trends to ensure cost accuracy. xsgimln Post-Project Review:

Collaborate with the project team to analyze and record real-time job costs. CRM Tracking:

Enter and maintain pertinent information on clients and projects through specified software

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (required) Minimum of 5 years of commercial estimating experience Strong understanding of commercial construction plans, specifications, and bidding documents Boots on ground field experience highly preferred Experience with construction software such as Bluebeam, Autodesk, Pipeline, and Sage 300 & Sage Estimating (highly preferred) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to perform electronic quantity takeoffs Proactive in identifying constructability issues or document conflicts Big-picture and forward-thinking mindset Exceptional oral and written communication skills Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Collaborative team-player with a positive and encouraging personality Highly self-motivated and able to work independently Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to team success Outstanding organizational and task prioritization skills Able to travel throughout Missouri and surrounding states as needed

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 (prior experience and qualifications will dictate)
