About the Role: CSP is partnering with a family owned and operated HVAC, Plumbing company to search for an experienced Mechanical Estimator (HVAC and or Plumbing) to join our team. The person will be focused on renovation, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects - not ground-up construction. This role requires someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands existing building conditions, and can deliver accurate, detailed estimates to support our special projects group.
What you'll be doing: Prepare detailed take-offs and cost estimates for plumbing and mechanical scopes on retrofit and renovation projects. Review drawings, specs, and existing site conditions to develop clear and accurate proposals. Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and collaborate with project managers on constructability and phasing. Solicit subcontractor and vendor pricing and evaluate bids for accuracy. Provide value engineering options and ensure alignment with budget and scope. Support project turnover by reviewing awarded scopes with operations.
What we need: 3+ years of estimating experience in plumbing or mechanical construction (special projects or renovations preferred). Strong understanding of MEP systems, existing building conditions, and retrofit challenges. Proficiency in estimating/take-off software (QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, Bluebeam, Excel, etc.). Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills. xsgimln Degree or trade background in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
