Job Description Job Description Own the uptime We’re looking for a reliability-focused technician to steward our injection molding assets and supporting utilities. You’ll be the calm in the storm—keeping equipment calibrated, documentation tight, and budgets on track—while responding decisively when a line goes down. Your impact in the first 90 days Map every injection press, auxiliary, and facility system to a preventive maintenance plan, then close gaps in procedures and documentation. Establish a calibration cadence for machine controls; verify screw and barrel condition against minimum requirements. Stabilize top downtime drivers through root cause analysis and rapid countermeasures. Baseline parts inventory and maintenance spend; implement controls to protect the budget. What you’ll handle Partner with the Maintenance Manager to maximize equipment utilization and availability. Author and execute PM procedures for presses and auxiliaries (granulators, dryers, water tower, chiller, etc.). Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on production and facility equipment. Specify and recommend auxiliary equipment purchases that enhance reliability and throughput. Operate mobile equipment as needed: forklifts, scissor lifts, and skid loaders. Maintain thorough records of PMs, installations, structural repairs, work orders, and facility operating reports. Control maintenance costs by monitoring inventory and expenses. Provide technical support for facility infrastructure: electrical systems, building projects, and plumbing. Lead continuous improvement; keep work areas and company grounds safe, orderly, and aligned with 5S. Remain on call 24/7 for maintenance issues that could impact customer deliveries. Complete additional related tasks as assigned. What you bring Education High School diploma or GED. Experience Minimum 7 years in industrial maintenance with injection molding machinery; blow molding or extrusion experience may substitute. Demonstrated mechanical know‑how across hydraulics, pumps, and motors. Strong electrical background: read schematics and troubleshoot complex wiring and control systems. Track record of timely, cost-effective repairs and sound troubleshooting. Skills and traits Can-do, self-motivated, and clear communicator (written and verbal). Decisive and data-driven; exercises good judgment under pressure. Comfortable reading engineering drawings plus electrical and hydraulic schematics. Expertise with industrial electrical control and hydraulic systems. Proficient diagnosing single- and three-phase motors. Familiarity with logic/PLC controls is a plus. Works independently; drives projects and continuous improvement to completion.
