Senior Estimator – General Contractor
Sunrise / Weston, FL
Compensation: Up to $160,000 (DOE)

in the Sunrise/Weston area is seeking an experienced
Senior Estimator
to lead preconstruction and estimating efforts on commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for a seasoned
GC Estimator
or a
Senior Project Manager
with strong budgeting and buyout experience who is looking to transition into a full-time estimating role.
Position Overview The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates from conceptual through GMP, supporting business development, and partnering closely with ownership, project management, and subcontractors. This individual will play a key role in setting projects up for financial and operational success.
Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design development, and final bid estimates for commercial GC projects Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using plans, specifications, and subcontractor input Solicit, evaluate, level, and negotiate subcontractor bids Develop and manage project budgets, GMPs, and cost models Analyze drawings and specifications to identify risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership during preconstruction and handoff Participate in bid strategy meetings and proposal development Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or schedule
Requirements Proven experience with a General Contractor is required 7+ years of experience in estimating, preconstruction, or senior-level project management within a GC environment Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing Experience preparing hard bids, negotiated work, and GMPs Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications Proficiency with estimating software and Excel (e.g., Procore, xsgimln Bluebeam, OST, or similar) Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
Nice to Have Senior Project Manager background with extensive budgeting and buyout experience Experience with ground-up commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, or interior fit-out projects Leadership or mentorship experience within preconstruction teams
