What you will be doing:

  • You will be part of a team responsible of defining, validating and enabling complex multi-rack FPGA based systems.
  • You will act as one of the ZeBu EP hardware architecture and deployment experts and you will be involved in supporting the ZeBu EP hardware platforms internally and at customers.
  • This role requires significant amount of collaboration and interactions in a fast paced environment, working closely with several cross functional teams to ensure the product readiness and achieve successful hardware deployments at customers.
  • This is a position where you might spend up to 50% of your time in different electronics labs and data centers, across the Bay Area physically setting up and validating/troubleshooting Hardware.
  • You will also be remotely supporting the hardware field service team during the Hardware deployments at customer sites worldwide.
  • Occasionally, you might be required to travel to customer sites domestically and worldwide to support installation and troubleshooting of new hardware systems (less than 10% of the time).
  • Some of your day to day tasks will involve the following:
  • Validating the hardware configuration files provided by R&D, using some scripting, reporting issues and recommending enhancements.
  • Validating the cabling and mechanics inside the lab or data center for large FPGA based, direct connect, multi-rack systems, establishing and documenting best practices and providing feedback to hardware R&D.
  • Generating and maintaining the high level bill of materials that allows to build the different types and sizes of the ZeBu EP platforms.
  • Working on documentation and trainings for users.
  • Generating and packaging diagnostic tests for production and field use.
  • Generating and running small emulation designs and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot the potential hardware issues.
  • Leveraging tests developed by other engineers and executing them to validate the emulator against a set of specifications.
  • Filing diagnostics enhancement tickets and following up with R&D on the implementation, then validating and signing off the developments.
  • Performing initial analysis of error logs, reviewing, replicating, and responding to internal/external customer issues.
  • Acting as a resource for users on routine malfunctions and advising them how to correct those malfunctions.
  • Working closely with R&D team to analyze the tricky HW failures and defining corrective actions.
  • Performing firmware upgrades on the different components of the emulator and pushing those upgrade recommendations to the field deployments.
  • Maintaining accurate data on all hardware activities and providing periodic reports to management.

What we need to see:

  • Degrees and work experience:
  • BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
  • 5+ year of relevant experience in emulation, prototyping, HW testing or similar fields
  • Technical:
  • Proficiency in Linux environment
  • Good knowledge of digital electronics and RTL (Verilog)
  • Good knowledge of C/C++, and Python (or another scripting language)
  • Basic knowledge of FPGA technology and associated compile flow
  • Non-technical:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and also with different teams in different time zones
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when needed (less than 10% of the time)

What we would be super excited to see:

  • FPGA prototyping or emulation knowledge
  • Mechanical/electronics/electrical knowledge
  • Familiarity with manipulating hardware in a data center or electronics lab environment
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems
  • Familiarity with Synopsys or similar Hardware Assisted Verification product line like ZeBu Server, ZeBu EP, HAPS
