Job Summary A Bulk Receiver is responsible for unloading all bulk ingredient trailers in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions To ensure that proper bulk security receiving procedures are followed before accepting trailer and after unloading, report any discrepancies to management prior to unloading. Collect and record lab samples from each load and perform moisture checks and lab data entry on flour loads. Monitor daily production inventories and handle multiple tank transfers of bulk ingredients as required. Perform minor maintenance repairs and assist in scheduling other maintenance issues. Assist in coordinating scheduling of bulk tank cleaning. Responsible for performing and recording screen cleaning results on all bulk liquid delivery systems, magnet cleaning results on the sugar and flour bulk delivery systems. Keeping all bulk delivery areas clean. Follow all forklift procedures and pre-checks and document any findings prior to operation if assigned to forklift duty. Complete all required paperwork legibly and accurately.

This position requires that all Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s) are followed at all times must be familiar with GMP requirements and the employee handbook. Any foreign materials found in product or ingredients need to be reported to a supervisor immediately.

This position requires the incumbent to verbally communicate instructions, problems, etc. to co-workers, supervisors and associates. Maintain and promote harmonious working relations with all plant employees from all departments, including management at all levels. Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law and company policies.

The incumbent will meet Company attendance standards, rules, regulations and policies as well as comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law. May work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and vibrations.

May perform other functions as assigned.

All normal CBC physical requirements apply to this job including but not limited to, read scale, and reach with hands/arms throughout shift. Ability to use hands and fingers, talk and hear as well as see. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required. Walk up to 400 yards to work and break areas. Stand for eight hours or more per shift. Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week. Able to apply concepts such as add, subtract, multiply and divided as well as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to distinguish colors. Repetitive reaching overhead, under and across, push/pull up to 1,000 lbs with assistance. Crawl, climb stairs and ladders. Communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions/problems. Perform general housekeeping. Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks. Ability to work in fast-paced environment near others. Ability to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions. Repetitive bending, stooping and twisting throughout shift. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals. Must work well with others. Must maintain harmonious working relationships with employees in all departments. Ability to work in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary. May be required to work in high precarious places and /or in outside weather conditions.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Reaching with hands/arms throughout shift.

Ability to use hands and fingers.

Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis

Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a frequent basis.

Work is primarily done in a production setting.

Frequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and fluctuations in temperature.

Experience and Skills

Prefer high school graduate or G.E.D.

Good eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.

Trained in use of fork and clamp; push-pull experience a plus

Ability to work with minimal supervision and at times independently.
