Position Information Position Title Student Assistant for Admissions Office
Academic Year 2025-2026

Position Summary The Student Assistant for the Admissions Office assists with all tasks, processes, and events of the Office of Admissions. The Student Assistant provides excellent customer service to prospective students, their families, and the community as a whole. The Student Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Events.
This is a student position open to current UIW students who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program or student employment.
Essential Functions
Works in a fast paced, high profile environment.
Manages front desk, lobby/presentation room and UIW Welcome Center duties.
Provides excellent customer service to prospective students, their families, and other guests.
Provides campus tours for 1 to 25 guests.
Answers multi-line phone system; transfers calls to appropriate department or personnel for assistance.
Provides general University/Admissions information.
Assists with scheduling daily tours and counselor appointments.
Assists with errands across campus daily.
Assists with mail pick up and delivery between Admissions office, UIW post office, and other campus offices.
Assists with packaging and labeling of recruitment materials, student packets, counselor materials, and other mail-outs.
Assists with preparation for various admissions events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with proper behavioral etiquette.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive.
Basic computer and office equipment skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Able to interact with staff in various positions (i.e., Directors, Vice Presidents, faculty, etc.).
Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
Ability to adhere to office dress code/uniform expectations.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education Current UIW student enrolled in at least half-time during the fall or spring semester.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None.
Work Hours
Flexible shifts between the hours of 8am-5pm.
Must be able to work flexible schedules during evenings and weekends when needed.
Must be able to work Spring Break, some student holidays and Summer Sessions.
Physical Demands
Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 20 lbs of recruiting materials.
Ability to move about and actively engage with others during event preparation, execution of event, and post event activities.
