Position Purpose/Summary:
To improve the educational program by monitoring and verifying student attendance for reporting purposes in an efficient and friendly manner.
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent; high level of competence in customer service and clerical skills as demonstrated by the District’s skills assessments; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite.
Essential Duties
Manage daily student attendance including tracking and reporting using district-approved software systems, ensuring data accuracy.
Coordinate with guidance office specialists to maintain an accurate student database.
Implement and maintain digital attendance protocols, including:
Real-time attendance monitoring
Late arrival processing
Early dismissal tracking
Period-by-period attendance verification
Monitors and adheres to current state guidelines for student attendance reporting.
Generate and analyze attendance data reports for:
Daily attendance summaries
Chronic absenteeism tracking
Attendance pattern analysis
State and district compliance reporting
Coordinate attendance communication through multiple channels, including phone, email, or district-approved software:
Parent/guardian contact for unexcused absences
Staff updates on student attendance patterns
Documentation of attendance-related communications
Process and verify attendance documentation (parent/guardian notes, medical excuses, etc.)
Maintain accurate and timely student attendance records in the Student Information System (SIS):
Enter and update attendance data
Process attendance corrections
Generate attendance verification reports
Support student check-in/check-out procedures:
Process late arrivals
Generate admission slips
Document early dismissals
Maintain visitor logs
Generate attendance, grade reports, and progress reports, and assist the guidance department with attendance reports and documentation.
Coordinate with building principal on grade reporting timelines and communication to teachers.
Additional Duties
Effectively communicate, verbally and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintain a welcoming and professional office environment for students, parents, and building guests.
Assist other Education Office Professionals as needed to ensure building success.
Operate and troubleshoot standard office technology.
Participate in required professional development and training.
Mental Demands Ability to maintain highly confidential information; communicate clearly both orally and in writing; and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Solve a variety of problems in many different situations and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently walk and use fingers and controls; occasionally stand, reach, bend, lift, and carry up to ten pounds. Close vision required for long periods at a computer screen.
Terms of Employment At-will basis for 9 months with two weeks vacation, beginning July 1 or from time of employment for the school year with prorated vacation and/or personal leave. Eight hours per day; salary disbursed in 24 equal payments. Position type: Full‑time. Salary: $16.15 per hour.
Evaluation Performance evaluated annually per Board’s policy on evaluation of support staff personnel.
