Job Overview The primary responsibility of a Cedar Rapids shuttle driver is to shuttle full trailers from the Cedar Rapids location to a variety of remote driver locations throughout the Midwest. They will return to the Cedar Rapids location daily with an empty trailer at the end of their shift. This will involve crossing state lines.
Responsibilities
Transport route trailers to appropriate domicile location before route leave time as assigned by schedule.
Collect all necessary documents for the route driver they service prior to departure (invoices, messages, credits).
Transfer documents to domicile driver’s tractor and collect documents left by prior day’s route.
Bring supplies such as carts and envelopes to domicile drivers as needed.
Shift Hours The shuttle driver starts their shift in Cedar Rapids around 8:00 pm Sunday through Thursday nights. Average driver works 8–12 hour days and averages 40–50 hours per week. Shuttle routes work evening/overnight/early morning hours.
Qualifications
A Class A CDL is required.
Good driving record.
Must be able to work independently.
