Summary of Position
The Bartender is responsible for preparing, serving, and selling food and beverages.
Essential Functions
Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, while promoting specials and documenting orders for drinks and food.
Ensure adherence to bar specifications: proper bar mix preparation, standard recipes and proper portion control.
Inputs orders into register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest.
Operates cash register according to established procedures, follow bank and deposit guidelines. This includes receiving cash from guests, making change as needed, validates charges, records charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed in order to balance all money.
Maintains a clean work station, locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, turns in all banks and deposits cash drops.
Helps out in cocktail lounge with drink orders and appetizers.
Performs general cleaning tasks as assigned.
Comply with the Arizona Grand Resort HEARTfelt culture (Vision, Values & Standards) of conduct as set forth in the resort communications.
Other tasks as assigned by the Aunt Chilada’s Managers and the General Manager.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
Prior bartending experience preferred
Certificates or Licenses:
Maricopa County Food Service Worker Card and AZ Title IV Alcohol Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to adhere to all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverage to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
Ability to follow instructions and be a good listener.
Ability to be alert, attentive, pleasant and outgoing.
Ability to stand and move within confined space of bar for long periods of time.
Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
Basic math skills necessary to operate cash register make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
Ability to memorize and perform Resort Standards, and Mystery shopper standards.
