The Membership Coordinator is a newly created, part‑time role designed to support WACC’s continued growth and member engagement. This position plays a key role in managing day‑to‑day membership administration while also providing flexible support for events, ambassadors, and special initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, people‑oriented, and comfortable with follow‑up and relationship‑building. While responsibilities are clearly defined, we work collaboratively and value team members who are willing to step in and support shared goals.
Primary Responsibilities Membership Administration & Engagement
Manage membership renewals, including invoicing, payment tracking, and status updates
Follow up with members via email and phone regarding renewals
Conduct outreach to less‑engaged members to check in, understand needs, and encourage participation
Respond to inbound membership and general Chamber inquiries
Maintain accurate membership records and communication logs
Coordinate closely with the Executive Director and Ambassador team to support retention and engagement
Ambassador & Volunteer Coordination
Support communication and coordination with Chamber Ambassadors related to:
New member outreach
Renewal follow‑up
Member check‑ins
Assist with volunteer coordination as needed
Event Support
Provide administrative and logistical support for Chamber events, including:
Registration assistance
Pre‑event preparation
On‑site support at select events
Post‑event follow‑up
Availability for occasional evening events (with advance notice)
General Administrative Support
Assist the Executive Director with administrative tasks related to membership, events, and operations
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable with follow‑up communication, including phone and email outreach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Friendly, professional, and service‑oriented
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Proficiency with basic office tools (email, spreadsheets, shared documents)
Experience with membership organizations, nonprofits, customer service, or administrative roles is a plus
Familiarity with Austin’s business community is a plus
