SUMMARY Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of hotel buildings and other structures by performing the following duties. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. PIC cannot accommodate unpredictable or sporadic absenteeism, unless covered by federal/state law.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads work orders or receives instructions from supervisor regarding painting projects.

Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including but not limited to guestrooms, public area and heart of the house areas.

Smooth surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare surfaces for painting.

Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.

Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.

Spreads drop-cloths over floors and room furnishings, covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.

Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers.

Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects, creates special effects.

Able to clean and prepare surfaces for painting. Follow established jobsite safety regulations and recognize and report potential safety issues.

Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level; install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications.

Ensures/maintains cleanliness and upkeep of PIC property (picking up loose trash, material and debris and disposing of it in appropriate trash receptacles provided).

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Be able to work in a standing position for long period of time.

Ability to work a variety of varying schedules.

Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum supervision.

Ability to work well under pressure of check-in/checkout of guest and handle multiple task at once.

Punctuality and regular reliable attendance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Graduate or equivalent, or two years qualified experience.
