Appointment Special Education Teacher: Full‑time probationary at Bernabi Elementary School, self‑contained 12:1:1 classroom supporting grades 4‑5.
Required Credentials N.Y.S. teacher certification (Special Education 1‑6), successful prior teaching or student teaching experience, knowledge of N.Y.S. Learning Standards, collaborative team member, and technologically proficient.
Preferred Credentials
Knowledge of Committee on Special Education process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal writing, implementation and progress monitoring. General knowledge of elementary curriculum and instruction.
Experience with providing special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth in the least restrictive environment.
Experience with developing and/or modifying curriculum, preparing lessons and providing specially designed instruction to address individual student needs.
Experience with establishing and maintaining open communication with parents, students, teachers and other relevant stakeholders.
Salary & Benefits As per the Spencerport Teachers' Association contract; comprehensive benefits package.
