may be the right place for you. Essential Functions

Serve as the first point of contact for the school by greeting visitors, answering phones, and managing front office operations with professionalism and care. Provide high-level administrative support to the Principal and Assistant Principal, including scheduling, correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting coordination. Maintain clear, professional communication with students, families, staff, and community partners via phone, email, written notices, and in-person interactions. Manage student records and enrollment processes, including registration, transfers, and maintenance of confidential files in compliance with school policies. Prepare, distribute, and ensure the quality of school communications, announcements, and notices to staff, students, and families. Maintain staff attendance records, coordinate substitute coverage documentation, and prepare attendance reports aligned with payroll needs. Oversee ordering and inventory of office and classroom supplies, books, materials, and equipment. Support the planning and execution of school events and special activities. Operate school communication systems, including intercom and announcement systems. Ensure the front office remains clean, safe, organized, and welcoming for all visitors. Supervise and support assigned clerical or secretarial staff, as needed. Maintain the school calendar of events and facility use. Perform general office duties including filing, copying, scanning, typing, and record management. Carry out other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the school. Skills & Characteristics

Demonstrated experience in a secretarial, administrative, or front office role, preferably in a school or educational setting. Experience using the

PowerSchool Student Information System

is strongly preferred and considered a significant asset. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong working knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and workflows. Proficiency with office technology, including printers, copiers, scanners, and phone systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Google Workspace is a plus. Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively. High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and follow-through skills. Clear, accurate written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, spelling, and professional tone. Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information. High school diploma required; additional certification or training as an Administrative Assistant or Secretary is a plus. About North Side Community School
