Award Women Artists seeks to present an online exhibition of fine art demonstrating excellence in terms of composition, technique, mastery of medium and quality of design. The final selection will be an exemplary showcase of a diverse group of representational and abstract artworks by artists who draw, paint, and sculpt.
Eligibility Open to women at least 18 years of age, who are working in the fine arts and residents of either the United States or Canada.
The American Women Artists’ annual online juried competition is open to all levels of AWA membership. Non‑members can join prior to the exhibition deadline to qualify for entry.
Entries may be representational or abstractэх work(s): drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, as well as sculpture. All subjects and styles are eligible, from traditional to contemporary.
Work(s) must be original. 2D works must have been completed within the last two years and 3D works must have been completed in the last five years.
Jurors Jurors are award‑winning artists and include Gladys Roldan‑de‑Moras, a Prix de West award‑winning artist known for her paintings of Spanish culture; Kathrine Lemke Waste, former AWA President and California contemporary realist painter; and Louise Solecki Weir, world‑renowned Canadian sculptor.
Awards AWA will distribute over $10,000 in cash awards. Selected artists are also eligible for in‑kind awards, including advertisements, art materials, and subscriptions from AWA’s generous donors. In addition to cash and in‑kind awards – including a $2,000 cash Grand Prize award – approximately 120 works selected will appear on AWA’s online gallery for an entire year, be featured in our monthly digital magazine, and be promoted through AWA’s social media channels.
Entry Fee
AWA membership – $45.00 for up to three pieces.
Non‑members can join prior to the exhibition deadline to qualify for entry. New Member dues can be paid on the AWA Join page.
Acceptance Notification: Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Sales Works do not have to be for sale. Sold works may be submitted. Enter NFS in the entry form. Artists will receive 55% of the sales price for 2D works and 60% for 3D works. AWA will receive 45% for 2D and 40% for
Cedar3G to support its mission and fund future artist awards.
