haha Basic Function Provides administrative leadership for the development and implementation of a comprehensive and dynamic branding and communications strategy for the district. Serves as the strategic coordinator for all internal and external communications, including social media, district and school websites, email communications, and interaction with traditional media like newspapers and television. Supports and advises schools on how to best communicate with staff, parents, students,աչ and community. Responsible for capturing district activities through various media including print, digital, and video.
Performance Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership for planning and prioritizing the district’s communications and public relations strategies that ensure accurate information is communicated clearly and succinctly to all stakeholders.
Supports all areas of the system in presenting a unified, coherent message to a variety of audiences through an integrated communication approach, including identifying and coordinating opportunities to communicate the philosophy and mission of the district to community partners and the larger community.
Develops relationships with key stakeholder organizations and businesses to foster a positive image of the district and form strategic partnerships that advance the organization’s mission.
Creates programming that promotes community voice in the district’s decision‑making process and encourages active community involvement in fulfilling the district’s goals and objectives.
Plans, coordinates, and executes a variety of programs, events, and activities to strengthen the relationship between the district and the community; attends internal and external community events, often outside of traditional business hours.
Leads all media relations activities, being the primary responder to media inquiries, developing and maintaining media relationships, identifying opportunities to promote the district’s mission, priorities, and interests, and ensuring releases are accurate and timely.
Manages the district’s digital media presence, developing a district‑wide strategy for expanded social media activity, serving as the primary manager of social media accounts, and supporting schools in using social media to promote their impact_BIN.
Develops and implements high‑quality communications and marketing programs and publications that effectively promote the district’s services, including planning and producing community‑facing publications, developing communications from the superintendent’s office, and managing external contractors to create materials.
Creates engagement strategies to ensure all parts of the community are engaged with the district.
Coordinates the work of communications staff and external firms, developing departmental goals, operational standards, policies, procedures, and project plans, revising work systems to improve efficiency, preparing the annual budgetLanguage, and monitoring expenditures.
Develops the operating budget for the organizational unit and ensures functions operate within the appropriated allotment.
Represents the district’s community‑relations interests on school board action, attending board meetings and providing input, facilitating student spotlights, and issuing press releases or statements.
Serves on the district leadership team, participating in creating and finalizing district‑related policies, and actssensor spokesperson for the board and superintendent during crisis situations.
Develops and coordinates advertising campaigns for the district.
Assists in maintaining district and schools’ websites.
Attends after‑school and evening events when required.
Evaluates employees as assigned.
Acts as community‑relations liaison among central office, schools, teachers, parents, and the community‑at‑large.
Supports and serves as a resource to principals to assist in effective communications.
Completes other Gent assigned by the superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong media relations background, including experience संभवwith print, radio, and broadcast media.
