NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center is seeking a Director for our Laboratory Service Line. This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional to work within top-ranking physicians and comprehensive resources, including some of the best thought leaders in the medical field.
In this role, the successful candidate will Direct, plan and oversees the development and operations of Clinical Laboratories (Hematology/Coagulation/ Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Client Services, Point of Care etc) at NYP/WC. Coordinate resources of multiple administrative disciplines/functions of the Hospital. Ensure continual efficient and compliant operational performance of the department and related areas. Acts as key strategic liaison between laboratory operations, the pathology department and the Health System
Job Responsibility
Develops and articulates a strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
Leads a Clinical Laboratory Operations' group by developing, communicating, and building consensus for goals/programs for the enterprise.
Oversees strategic operating goals, objectives, and budget; reports on operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements; implements policies, standards and procedures that support and facilitate clinical laboratory operations services across the system.
Develops strategies for clinical laboratory operations programs adaptation to market changes and implements new service delivery models.
Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports.
Reviews comprehensiveness of programs on an ongoing basis and develops strategies for program adaptation to market changes.
Strives to streamline operations and effectively apply new concepts and techniques for positive outcomes; identifies and implements technology to improve operations.
Performs related duties as required.
Preferred
B.S. Medical Technology, Masters in Education, Medical Technology or Health Administration
NYS license as a Clinical Lab Technologist
Required
Five (5) years at supervisory level
Master’s Degree or equivalent in business or health related field
Strong communication and writing skills
Experience working with operational efficiency improvements, quality management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and budgetary responsibilities

Salary Range $190,000-$245,000/Annual
