Position Summary
We design and build really cool things, and our CNC team is the first step in creating these impactful projects! We are seeking an experienced Machinist or Operator to join our Custom Production team. This role is responsible for operating an Onsrud M-Series 5x12 CNC router, producing parts and unique components from a variety of sheet goods and plastics. The position involves a mix of manual nesting and toolpathing as well as automated batch cutting, working alongside a team of skilled operators and fabricators. Primary Responsibilities
Set up and operate an Onsrud M-Series 5x12 CNC Router Table
Load, secure, and unload materials including, but not limited to:
Plywood
MDF
Solid Surface
Acrylics and plastics
Change tooling, set work offsets, and verify programs before cutting
Perform manual nesting and job setup as well as run automated batch programs
Monitor machine operation and adjust feeds/speeds as needed
Inspect finished parts to ensure quality, accuracy, and finish standards
Troubleshoot basic machining or material issues
Maintain a clean and organized CNC work area
Perform routine machine cleaning and light preventative maintenance
Work collaboratively with other CNC operators and fabrication staff
Required Qualifications
Proven experience operating a CNC router in a production or custom fabrication environment
Experience cutting sheet goods and plastics on a CNC router
Strong understanding of:
Safe shop and Machining Practices
CNC setup procedures
Tooling selection
Fixturing and hold-down methods
Ability to read shop drawings and job documentation
Clear communication with Project Management and other Production Staff
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and Project Deadlines
Ability to work independently while coordinating with a team
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with custom millwork, exhibit, or specialty fabrication
Experience cutting acrylics, plastics or solid surface materials
Willingness to cross-train or assist in other shop areas as needed
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time, hourly position
Flexible scheduling available, afternoon/evening shift preferred
Overtime may be required depending on production workload
Hourly rate based on experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and handle sheet goods (with assistance as needed)
Comfortable working in a typical fabrication shop environment
Use of typical PPE including hearing and eye protection
