About the Role
Senior Accountant role is a key position within accounting and finance operations, supporting a manufacturing environment with complex inventory, costing, and financial reporting needs. This role is responsible for managing full-cycle accounting activities, supporting operational leadership with financial insights, and ensuring accurate financial data in accordance with GAAP. Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, invoicing, billing, and labor reporting.
Process vendor payments through checks and electronic transfers while maintaining accurate vendor records and reconciliations.
Perform inventory cycle counts, reconcile variances, and support standard costing and inventory control processes.
Track sales orders, backlog, open orders, and shipment schedules to support accurate revenue and sales forecasting.
Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and management reporting to support operational and financial decision-making.
Coordinate with purchasing, production, warehouse, and sales teams to accurately track materials and costs through production.
Support production planning, materials purchasing, and coordination with external processors from an accounting perspective.
Maintain subsidiary ledgers, post daily transactions, and ensure accurate general ledger reconciliations.
Assist with internal audits, external audits, and corporate reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Three or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, financial analysis, and cost accounting principles.
Experience with inventory management, standard costing, labor costing, and variance analysis.
Proficiency with ERP systems and strong skills in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, reconcile, and interpret financial and operational data.
High attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience supporting manufacturing operations, plant accounting, or multi-site facilities.
Exposure to process improvement initiatives, internal controls, and operational efficiency projects.
