Senior Accountant

Position Overview Our client seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing food manufacturing organization. This is a blended role combining financial accounting and financial analysis (FA), offering the opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is eager to grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

Lead and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity

Produce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost analysis related to manufacturing operations

Partner with operations and leadership to provide insights on cost drivers, margins, and performance metrics

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis

Support inventory accounting, including standard costing, inventory reconciliations, and adjustments

Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes

Assist with audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors

Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency across accounting and finance functions

Support special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or food production

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience with cost accounting and inventory management strongly preferred

Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems a plus

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate financial information clearly

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
