Salary Range : $9200.00 Salary Description
Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences seeks seasonal summer educator(s) with backgrounds in teaching chemistry, and/or physics to join its Summer Team.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. between (July 16 - July 18)
Essential Duties:
Provide content-related and appropriate instruction to students in a diversified manner;
Provide a classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area;
Ability to engage students in learning in-person as well as in a remote and/or hybrid environment;
Exhibit knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment;
Develop and implement lesson plans and activities to fulfill the requirements of the class curriculum;
Prepare lessons in instructional formats that accommodate differences in individual student needs;
Dexterity with using online platforms like Google Classroom, Zoom, Kami, and Blackbaud;
Maintain an up to date online gradebook with feedback for students on progress;
Communicate responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership;
Account for student attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
Minimum BA or BS in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics, or related field.
Experience teaching chemistry physics, or a related field at the high school level.
Knowledge of current teaching trends and technology.
Experience planning student-centered, innovative lessons in course-aligned teams and leading students in inquiry-based experimentations in a cutting-edge research, student-centered laboratory facility.
Value interdisciplinary thinking and can expertly guide students as they develop a deeper understanding of our interconnected world through the study of technology and how things work.
