Engineering Account Support and Training Manager

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Engineering Account Support & Training Manager position. This role is responsible for providing management oversight, operational support, and workforce development for HBM’s less technically complex maintenance accounts. The position serves as a key internal resource, managing the floater bench, overseeing the apprenticeship program, and developing and delivering engineering and maintenance training across the organization.

Account Oversight and Operational Support Provides management oversight and support to less sophisticated maintenance accounts, ensuring service quality, compliance, and consistency. Conducts periodic site visits, evaluations, and operational audits. Assists site supervisors and technicians with troubleshooting, staffing challenges, and operational issues. Supports large‑scale or sensitive maintenance activities (e.g., building shut‑offs, coordinated repairs). Prepares and reviews reports related to site performance, staffing, and operational metrics.
Floater Bench Management
Manages the deployment, scheduling, and utilization of the floater bench to support staffing gaps, absences, and special projects.
Ensures floater personnel are properly trained, prepared, and matched to site needs.
Monitors performance of floater staff and provides coaching and feedback.
Apprenticeship Program Oversight
Oversees HBM’s apprenticeship program, including onboarding, progression tracking, and skills development.
Coordinates with site supervisors and mentors to ensure apprentices receive appropriate training and exposure.
Evaluates apprentice performance and readiness for advancement.
Training and Workforce Development
Develops, implements, and delivers engineering and maintenance training programs for technicians, supervisors, floaters, and apprentices.
Establishes standardized training materials, curricula, and technical competency benchmarks.
Conducts orientation, refresher training, and ongoing technical skill development programs.
Supports leadership development and supervisory training for engineering staff.
Leadership and Employee Development
Supports supervisors with employee development, performance management, and corrective action in coordination with HR.
Participates in employee evaluations and provides developmental feedback.
Promotes a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Administrative and Planning Support
Assists with workforce planning, scheduling strategies, and cost‑control initiatives.
Supports budget planning related to staffing, training, and operational efficiencies.
Performs other duties as requested by HBM management.
Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Hawaii driver’s license
Must pass background check
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven supervisory or leadership experience in operations, engineering or maintenance environments
Experience operating and/or overseeing building maintenance functions
Proficient in Microsoft Office and email
BA/BS in engineering, business degree preferred or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience developing and delivering technical training programs
Experience managing multi‑site or support‑focused operations
Familiarity with apprenticeship or workforce development programs
Schedule Flexible schedule required / Availability for nights, weekends, and traveling as needed
Compensation range $100,000 – $115,000 per year
