Community and Economic Development Department The City of Middletown is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Code Specialist. The position performs duties to enforce various Federal, State and local codes and ordinances, including, but not limited to, building construction, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, fire protection systems, and other housing and property maintenance nuisances. Responsibilities include issuing citations for offenses and appearing and testifying in court. Work requires timely decision‑making using independent judgment.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Ohio Driver’s license.
International Code Council (ICC) Property Maintenance, Housing Code Specialist and Zoning Certification required on hire date or the ability to receive certification within 6 months of hire.
Salary Range: $47,932 - $69,264 annually with excellent benefits.
