Job Summary Bobrick is hiring a Senior Sourcing Buyer to play a key contributor to the company’s supply chain strategy, providing leadership in strategic sourcing to ensure materials and finished goods are procured at optimal cost while meeting standards for quality, reliability, and responsiveness. In this role, you will lead sourcing initiatives, evaluate market trends, analyzes supplier quotations, and partner with suppliers to support business and operational goals.
Working independently with minimal supervision, as the Senior Sourcing Buyer you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, schedule deliveries, and maintain inventory levels aligned with forecasted demand. You will play a critical role in supporting product development, cost optimization, and supply continuity through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
Lead and manage sourcing projects from concept through implementation across all phases of the product life cycle
Own and manage corporate supplier accounts, including performance feedback and continuous improvement initiatives
Research, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining awareness of market trends and sourcing best practices
Develop and execute phase-in / phase-out plans for sourced items
Proactively identify and drive cost-reduction opportunities through effective purchasing and negotiation strategies
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms within defined authority and budgetary guidelines
Procurement & Order Management Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy; solicit bids, evaluate quotations, and select or recommend suppliers
Ensure purchase orders are accurate, current, and compliant with company-supplier agreements
Manage sourcing and procurement for finished goods and, as needed, detailed part items
Support the Single Source Planner (SSP) program by maintaining replenishment orders across divisions
Resolve invoice discrepancies in partnership with Accounts Payable
Inventory & Data Integrity Maintain and monitor inventory levels for assigned items; recommend actions for obsolete or slow-moving inventory
Coordinate tooling and vendor-held inventory, including annual physical inventory processes
Ensure accuracy of item data across enterprise systems, including sourcing, replenishment, warehouse, BOMs, and UOMs
Manage accounts representing annual spend that may exceed $15M
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with Quality Control, Engineering, suppliers, and internal users to address non-conforming materials or services
Lead supplier corrective action processes (CARs) and follow through to resolution
Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), First Articles, and Temporary Deviations
Participate as a proxy on the Quality Action Team (QAT) and Change Control Board (CCB) when required
Support corporate quality goals by proactively identifying and preventing quality defects
Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a Supply Chain representative on cross-functional teams, task forces, and product development initiatives
Support Architectural Services and Engineering by managing and reviewing quote requests for accuracy and timeliness
Partner with manufacturers to improve processes, service levels, and product quality
Systems, Reporting & Analysis Work daily within the company’s enterprise system (CSI) to monitor, analyze, and act on purchasing and inventory data
Gather, analyze, and present data using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, Access/SharePoint databases, and ad hoc reports
Maintain procurement records related to cost, delivery, quality, and supplier performance
Leadership & Development Apply sound judgment in both standard and non-standard situations with minimal supervision
Assist with training and mentoring newer team members through job shadowing, formal modules, and day-to-day support
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by Supply Chain or Purchasing leadership
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and 5–7 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement (manufacturing preferred), or equivalent experience
Strong numerical accuracy with the ability to analyze and interpret data confidently
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to build spreadsheets, databases, charts, and perform Excel-based data analysis
Professional certifications such as CPSM or ASCM are preferred
Ability to read and interpret bills of material (BOMs), technical drawings, and blueprints
In-depth understanding of production planning, inventory control, and procurement processes within a complex manufacturing environment
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and follow through on all aspects of production-related activities
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Location North Hollywood, CA
Schedule Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm with flexibility as needed
