Blue Top Ridge Background
Blue Top Ridge at Riverside is the first Rees Jones–designed golf course in the state of Iowa. Rees Jones–designed and renovated courses are regularly featured in major golf tournaments across the United States, and Blue Top Ridge is proud to be part of that legacy.
The course has hosted the Iowa Open on multiple occasions, along with USGA, Iowa PGA, and numerous collegiate championship events. Construction of Blue Top Ridge began in the spring of 2006. While the Riverside Casino opened on August 1, 2006, the golf course officially opened one year later on August 1, 2007. More than 250 acres of former cattle pasture and cornfields were transformed into the course that exists today. From the championship tees, the course plays 7,444 yards and features six man-made ponds.
The course derives its name from a historic farmstead once located near the 14th green, known for its distinctive blue-shingled buildings.
