Technology team

has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain.

About the Location Collaborative Work Environment:

At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success.

Sr Project Manager – Merchandising Technology

As a member of the PetSmart Technology team, this Project Manager will lead initiatives within our Merchandise Technology area. These initiatives include retail functions like pricing, promotions, replenishment, space planning, and category management. This Project Manager will work directly with peer teams, internal business partners, external vendors, and solution integrators to ensure successful delivery of project scope.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned project resources and hold accountable to committed estimates

Own the assigned project deliverables and outcomes

Own, facilitate, and direct the appropriate project ceremonies

Maintain and update project schedules, plans, and/or boards

Identify project risks, proactively work to prevent the risk event from happening and/or mitigate its impact on the project

Maintain project fiscal controls and budgetary process requirements

Own all aspects of project communication

Operate at subject matter expert level of detail

Ensure vendor partner deliverables meet PetSmart’s requirements for time, scope, and quality.

Maintain and manage cross functional partnerships

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing projects within an enterprise-scale organization

Implementation experience in Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies, and hybrid or modified applications of both

Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing globally distributed teams and vendor partners

Must have prior work experience involving the implementation of 3rd party software solutions

Experience with business modeling and requirements management tools

Jira

Confluence

Diagramming solutions like Microsoft Visio or Lucid Chart

Project budget and financial management

Preference Given

PMP designation

Working within an SAP ERP environment

Experience with the Retail industry vertical, Retail technology environments

Bachelor’s Degree
