Clinical/Counselling Psychologist The closing date is 25 January 2026

Shrewsbury Central East Community Mental Health Team welcomes applications for a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to work on a part time basis 15 hours per week.

In the role you will provide a specialist Clinical Psychology service within the Shrewsbury Central East CMHT. You will work with clients remotely or face‑to‑face alone, in local NHS settings or other care environments, or at their home as necessary. You will need to be able to communicate highly complex information effectively in highly emotive situations and overcome psychological resistances to potentially threatening issues.

You will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. In so doing you will be responsible for adhering to relevant Trust policies, professional ethics and standards, and be accountable for both professional and clinical actions.

As a senior clinician, you will develop a field of expertise that is a basis for providing advice to the service within which you work and will contribute to service and project development across the wider Trust area, including leading or contributing to training, supervision and governance aspects of the specific models of service delivery.

You will supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by more junior psychologists within CMHS and provide peer supervisory support to colleagues as appropriate.
