Job Description Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,000 employees. We are currently seeking a
QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
based in Knoxville, TN. This candidate will support our East TN operations and should have experience in asphalt quality control.
Pay depends on verifiable experience!
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and will be responsible for a wide variety of quality control efforts including testing materials produced to assure compliance with internal and external specifications, providing technical services and support to internal and external customers, supporting compliance with environmental agencies, understanding of chemical analysis, attention to detail, and maintaining control charts and other required records. The candidate must be enthusiastic and have an uncompromising emphasis on safety.
Responsibilities
Test selected materials produced to ascertain production of quality materials in an effective and cost-efficient manner.
Monitor production and certify test results for use in contract procurement or completion of job quality requirements.
Maintain control charts and other records required.
Computer and data entry skills required.
Skilled in operating quality control lab equipment and testing materials.
Demonstrable knowledge of aggregate testing procedures including gradations, XRF/chemistry testing, crushed count, deleterious count, basic geological knowledge.
Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking.
Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the day.
Basic math and computing/technology skills.
Flexible schedule (possible night and Saturday shifts).
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; be able to work on a team.
Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
Operate testing equipment and company vehicles in a responsible and safe manner.
Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean lab environment.
