Return to Practice: Allied Health Professionals (Honorary Contracts) The closing date is 08 February 2026

To be eligible for this programme, you must have had previous HCPC registration and have been out of practice for 2 years or longer.

We understand that you may pause your career. Whatever the reason for this, if you are now ready to come back, we are keen to support you with placement opportunities across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

If you have been out of practice for longer than 2 years, you will need to register with NHS England on their Return to Practice Programme before commencing on a placement. Please see supporting information on how to do this.

We can then offer you a range of flexible clinical placements, enabling you to complete the required practice hours in the following professions:

Art Therapists

Podiatrists

Occupational therapists

Paramedics

Physiotherapists

Speech and language therapists

These placements will be via an honorary contract (unpaid). Various hours available (full time, part time, flexible working). For further information please make contact via the details on the advert.

Main duties of the job Your day will vary depending on which AHP profession and service you undertake your placement. However, you can expect to be involved in delivering clinical/therapeutic care with a patient group/caseload.

You may have to drive across the county if you choose a community setting, as well as provide telephone or virtual calls to patients. If you are working on one of our mental health or community hospital wards, you will be supporting the multi‑disciplinary team in delivering high‑quality care to patients.

You will need to be flexible and adapt to changes as the day can be varied. As part of your placement, you will be involved in seeing patients and undertaking assessments and intervention with support. You may be required to liaise with family members as a part of the therapy/interventions you are providing. If you are working in a clinic it will be varied with a range of conditions that will require you to provide an assessment and treatment plan with support.
