Position Summary
The Test Engineer for Mainstream Engineering is responsible for maintaining, managing, and troubleshooting production and engineering test systems and test equipment in support of product verification and validation activities. Reporting within the Quality organization, this role partners closely with the Engineering team to ensure test methods, equipment, and processes are robust, repeatable, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
The Test Engineer supports a diverse portfolio of products including machined components, plastic molded components, sheet metal, tubing assemblies, wiring harnesses, electronics/PCB assemblies, and chemical products for both military and commercial applications. This is a hands‑on role within a manufacturing and assembly environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain, manage, and troubleshoot production and engineering test equipment to ensure reliable and repeatable testing results, including basic configuration management and nonconformance resolution
Lead the development of Acceptance Test Procedures for new product test requirements using Qualification Test plans and direction from design engineers.
Support the execution of test procedures by Quality personnel in coordination with Engineering and Quality leadership
Ensure test systems remain calibrated, documented, and compliant with applicable quality standards and internal procedures
Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions related to test failures, equipment issues, or anomalous test results
Develop and design test equipment to support production efficiency and product quality with a focus on error‑proofing and automated data collection
Document test methods, test results, and equipment maintenance activities to support traceability and audits
Train production and quality personnel on proper use of test equipment and adherence to test procedures
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to test coverage, test reliability, and process robustness
Support internal and external audits related to test equipment, test methods, and quality compliance
Collaborate with Quality Engineers on nonconforming product investigations, RMAs, and corrective actions as they relate to testing
Position Requirements
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline required
Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting test systems and test equipment in a manufacturing or assembly environment
Hands‑on experience with electrical, mechanical, and/or functional testing of hardware and electromechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test specifications
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software‑driven test systems
Experience working within a Quality Management System (ISO 9001 or similar) preferred
Familiarity with test documentation, traceability requirements, and automated data collection (LabVIEW preferred)
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations
US citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations
