Job Title: Cybersecurity Project Manager (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week; specific days flexible)- Must be local to: Charlotte, NC 28206 Contract Length: 12+ Months Job ref# We are seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead and support cybersecurity, regulatory, and compliance-driven initiatives. This role is responsible for managing multiple medium-sized cyber projects and smaller ad hoc initiatives with strict regulatory and audit-driven deadlines. The Cyber Project Manager will partner closely with Cybersecurity, IT, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and business stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment to ensure secure, compliant, and timely delivery. This is a high-touch role requiring strong project leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage follow-ups across multiple teams. While initial onboarding may include some administrative and coordination activities to learn internal cyber processes and controls, the primary focus is full lifecycle project management. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity and compliance-related projects aligned to regulatory and audit commitments.
  • Manage multiple medium-sized cyber initiatives and smaller ad hoc requests with critical delivery timelines.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, dependencies, and milestones using structured project management methodologies.
  • Coordinate and direct matrixed resources across Cybersecurity, IT, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and business teams.
  • Facilitate cyber project meetings to drive alignment on requirements, scope, risks, and remediation plans.
  • Identify, document, monitor, and escalate cybersecurity risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes.
  • Ensure project artifacts are maintained, including assumptions, decisions, risk logs, action items, and compliance documentation.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all cyber testing and validation deliverables.
  • Lead defect triage meetings, prioritize remediation efforts, and ensure test scripts and controls are updated and revalidated.
  • Apply established cybersecurity project standards, governance frameworks, and change management processes.
  • Provide clear, concise status reporting to stakeholders and leadership, highlighting risks, remediation progress, and compliance posture.
  • Drive accountability through consistent follow-up and cross-functional communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (4-year).
  • Demonstrated experience managing cybersecurity, information security, or compliance-focused projects.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity project lifecycles, control validation, and remediation efforts.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading meetings, managing risks, and negotiating priorities in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency to expert-level experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to adapt and deliver in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting Cyber, Risk, Compliance, or Regulatory programs.
  • Audit experience or experience responding to audit findings.
  • Familiarity with cyber testing, defect management, and control validation.
  • Experience working within regulated industries (financial services preferred).

  • This is a hands-on Cyber Project Manager role with high stakeholder engagement.
