Registered Nurse-PACU (PRN)
PRN I First Shift
Surgical Services I Lexington, KY
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description RN PACU:
* Assessment of patients' needs.
* Development of patient care plans
* Provision of direct care.
* Management of patient care delivery.
* Demonstrate leadership skills.
* Support for quality care.
* Customer relations and healing environment.
* On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
* Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
* Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
* Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.
Requirements RN PACU:
* Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
* Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
* Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
* ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
