American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit with experience in telemetry and Epic charting required for night shifts.
Job Details
- Work in a locked Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a corrections health setting,
- Care for oncology and medical-surgical patients, including those with active cancer diagnoses and general medical conditions,
- Float to various oncology medical-surgical units as needed,
- Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) with potential weekend shifts based on unit needs,
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 in PCU and 1:4-5 in medical-surgical units,
- Epic documentation system experience required,
- Medication administration via Pyxis is utilized,
Job Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required,
- Current BLS certification required,
- Medical-surgical or telemetry experience required,
- Epic charting experience required,
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias,
- IV and phlebotomy skills, central and peripheral line care, and management of cardiac drips (no titration),
- Experience with respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy management,
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, medication administration, feeding tube and tracheostomy care, and pre/post-hemodialysis management,
- Work is performed in a secure unit with access controlled by corrections officers,
- Provide care to both oncology and non-oncology patients,
- Support from interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and rapid response teams,
- Oncology experience is preferred but not required,
