Responsibilities
Office Assistants will perform a variety of tasks in our administrative offices, which are typically open Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Specific tasks may include:
* Various customer service responsibilities like answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting with in-person office visits.
* Data entry and analysis.
* General office duties like scanning and uploading files.
* Cashiering and cash handling duties include processing student fee payments, balancing daily collections, processing petty cash payouts, and assisting with the technology checkout process.
* Working in various Housing computer applications to perform administrative tasks. Record upkeep and compliance.
Qualifications
* High school diploma/equivalent.
* Must be FSU students and maintain a cumulative 2.5 undergraduate or 3.0 graduate GPA.
* Must be in good conduct standing with the University.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service to include interacting with students/families or potential students/families over the phone, via email, and in person.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to enter data with a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous office and/or cash handling experience.
* Priority is given to students who have lived on campus for at least one semester.
* Priority will be given to students who can commit to being available for Summer 2026.

Anticipated Salary Range
$14.00 per hour ($15.00 per hour effective September 30, 2026).

University Housing operates on a 12-month calendar. Office Assistants should be prepared to work finals weeks, between sessions, and during breaks. Meetings throughout the semester, as announced by supervisor, may be necessary.
Office Assistants will work a minimum of 10 -15 hours between 9:00am - 4:00pm; hours are flexible.
Office Assistants may not work more than a total of 40 hours per week, in combination with any other University-related employment.
