Data Analyst - Electric Vehicle Charging Data

Position Overview

Nesco Resource has partnered with a leading energy client to identify a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support their SmartCharge Commercial managed EV charging program. This role focuses on downloading, reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining large volumes of electric vehicle (EV) charging data to support program design, operational decisions, and regulatory reporting.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with repetitive datasets, and skilled at troubleshooting data quality issues to ensure accuracy and consistency. This role plays a key part in translating complex charging data into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Data Acquisition & Management

* Download, aggregate, and manage EV charging data from multiple sources, including:

* Network service provider dashboards

* Charger-level data

* Meter-level data

* Validate data accuracy and ensure compliance with internal reporting and quality standards.

* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data inconsistencies across large datasets.

Data Analysis & Insights

* Analyze EV charging data to identify trends in utilization, energy consumption, and charging behavior.

* Develop load profiles, forecasts, and trend analyses to support grid planning and managed charging programs.

* Apply statistical and data visualization techniques to clearly communicate findings.

Reporting & Collaboration

* Create dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel.

* Collaborate with assistant program managers and external partners to refine data requirements.

* Support regulatory and internal reporting needs with accurate, well-documented data outputs.

Required Qualifications

* 2-5 years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar analytical role.

* Proficiency in Python for data analysis and manipulation.

* Strong experience with Power BI for reporting and visualization.

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data cleaning, analysis, and reporting).

* Experience working with large datasets and applying data validation and cleaning techniques.

* Understanding of EV charging infrastructure and energy systems.

* Prior experience analyzing EV charging data .

* Familiarity with charger-level, meter-level, or telematics data .

* Salesforce experience.

* Knowledge of utility operations , managed charging programs, or demand response.

* Ability to interpret technical reports and translate insights into real-world applications.

* Comfortable learning and adopting new tools and technologies.

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering , or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Location: Irving Plaza, NY Hybrid

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Contract: 6-month contract (strong potential to extend based on performance)

Rate: $40-44/hour

Experience Level: 2-5 years
