$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 annual salary (US Dollars). The pay listed is the salary range for this position. The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in delivering high-quality custodial services for an educational facility. This role focuses on supervising staff, maintaining service standards, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and assisting with client relations and operational efficiency. In addition to strong leadership and organizational skills, the ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude to diagnose, repair, and maintain janitorial equipment and serve as a subject matter expert in specialty floor care techniques. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional committed to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and visitors while driving operational excellence and technical expertise. Flexible between day and nights with some weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client Relations
Maintain regular communication with school administrators to ensure service satisfaction. Respond promptly to inquiries and resolve custodial-related concerns. Support quality assurance programs and conduct periodic inspections to meet cleanliness and safety standards. Employee Supervision
Assist in supervising custodial staff, ensuring proper training in cleaning protocols, chemical safety, and equipment usage. Promote a positive team environment and employee morale. Monitor attendance, performance, and adherence to safety guidelines. Provide leadership in special projects (e.g., seasonal deep cleaning, event setups). Operational Support
Help manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Assist with scheduling and labor allocation to meet service requirements. Support compliance with OSHA standards, infection control, and chemical handling protocols. Financial Support
Assist in monitoring labor costs and supply expenses to stay within established parameters. Help prepare reports for billing accuracy and cost control. Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred). 3+ years of supervisory experience in custodial or environmental services. Knowledge of cleaning standards, chemical safety, and infection control practices. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
