Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $120,000 to $130,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
* Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Maintain the Chart of Accounts and general ledger, updating codes as contracts change.
* Review bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate agency allocations before system entry.
* Manage financial and grant accounting to align expenditures with program budgets.
* Prepare monthly variance analysis and profit and loss statements to support decision-making.
Requirements:
* Maintain internal controls for receipts, expenditures, and client-related accounts.
* Enforce compliance with accounting policies, funding terms, and regulatory guidance.
* Support audits and prepare schedules for financial and tax reporting.
* Oversee accounts payable, procurement, reimbursements, and daily cash receipts.
* Collaborate with compliance teams on government audits and monitoring activities.
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit or grant accounting practices.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
* Communicate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
* Show experience with QuickBooks, ADP, and financial reporting systems.
